Lord Google
Google Toolbar Update and Pagerank 3
Posted by

Yesterday I found out that this blog’s Toolbar Pagerank increased from PR0 to PR3. What does that mean? Well, PR is Lord Google’s way of ranking websites and the range is from 0 to 10. In Lord Google’s view, a high PR means that you are highly favored by Lord Google and it also indicates how important you are (your site) to him. I guess Lord Google is just showing this blog some love. LOL!
PR is also used by advertisers as a measure of value. Advertisers usually buy advertisements spots from high PR sites. In fact, many, if not all, get paid to post service providers use PR to value blogs for their advertisers. The higher your PR means you’ll get more high paying opportunities which usually involves posting a review with PR passing links back to the advertiser’s website.

What I’ve learned from joining “get paid to post” sites is that advertisers are not really paying you for the post, they are paying you for the links that they required you to place into your post. Well, I learned that the hard way when my blog, Kabalyero.com, got slapped with a PR0. It is my most active blog and I work really hard on it too. Anyway, just a few more days and I’ll be able to apply to get Kabalyero.com’s PR back.
Going back to the update, I’m not sure if the update is complete or if it’s still ongoing but if the Toolbar PR is indicative of the actual PR after the update then I’m happy with it because PR3 is always better than PR0.

Thanks Mama Bok and Katy. It’s a little bit surprising because my most active blog Kabalyero.com took like (more or less) 6 months to get a PR and the funny thing is it took only a few weeks to drop it back to 0. Don’t you just love Google.

Google is not a lord nor a god.
How did you make your appeal to Google to increase your PR anyway? Pls. help. I want to make an appeal…

Hi Zang, I didn’t make any appeal to Google for this blog. The PR increase was natural.

Hi,
You must be pleased to see that but why you are so uncertain about that man.
