Show Me The Money

Can You Peel It?

Posted by Melo

I can’t remember when and where I first saw it but when I saw it being offered at AdToll I just immediately signed up. Oh, I am talking about “Peel Away Ads“. I went to check out AdToll today and after the homepage loaded I saw this tear like thing located at the top right corner of the site with the words “Special Offer”. So, I moused over and it opened up or should I say, it peeled away. Okay, so I thought that was very cool and, out of curiousity and interest, decided to just sign-up with them but I did browse the site more after signing up.

To put it simply, AdToll gives website owners the ability to sell advertising space on their websites. You choose what type of ad, where to place it on your website and how much you want to be paid for it. In my case, I was very interested with Peel Away Ads.

To get started, I initially added two of my websites (kabalyero.com and sanpablocity.net) and, after getting the code, I immediately placed it in both of them. I also added the code here and you’ll find the Peel Away Ad at the top right corner of the page. I kinda like it because it is kinda non-obtrusive and it kinda saves me a few more space for other banners or ads because, although it’s big, you’ll only see it in full view when you mouse over it.

Peel Away Ad is not the only banner or advertising style or format available in AdToll. They also have all the standard banner ad types, even video ads, and you can add as many as you want (I think). You can also specify the cost of placing an ad per week but if you don’t know how to cost your ad spaces then you can use AdToll’s Autopricing feature. Autopricing means that AdToll’s system will determine the suitable cost for your ad space based on some special formula they cooked up. I used autopricing on all of my Peel Away Ads because I’m really bad at pricing stuff. If you choose autopricing then you can also set a Pricing Strategy. You choose from Cheap, Bargain, Normal, Premium and Exclusive. I guess this part is already self explanatory, right? I set mine to premium just to give it more value. LOL! I also selected to give discounts for long-term ad bookings.

AdToll has all sorts of ranking stuff on their homepage and if you are not in the Top 10, still advertisers can find you through their search feature and directory. Stats of top performing sites are also listed on the homepage and just looking at the amount of money to place an ad in anyone of them made me gasped in disbelief. Just a piece of it would be totally awesome.

I find the site pretty straightforward. For publishers, you sign-up, list your site, choose an ad format, choose pricing, get and place the code in your site and then sit back and watch (but don’t sit and watch too long, don’t forget that you’ll need to drive traffic to your site to make it really profitable). I didn’t find anything confusing that could prevent me from placing the code or anything and if you do find anything confusing or you just need to ask a question then you can always contact your Account Manager which will be assigned to you after you sign-up.

Right now, I have Peel Away Ads on some of my blogs and if it turns out okay then I might try to add some Video Ads. Anyway, just drop by AdToll’s website to get a better “peel” of what they offer and how it can help you monetize your site even more.

Peel Away!!!
