Show Me The Money
Sharing My Pics

I usually use ImageShack or Flickr for hosting my images but then I learned that I can get paid for them too if I upload them to Shareapic. Shareapic is a picture/photo/image sharing site, just like ImageShack and Flickr, that pays its members for uploading their pictures. The pay is based on the number of views your uploaded pictures received and currently Shareapic is paying a rate of $0.22 per 1,000 views. I don’t think that’s a bad deal and it’s definitely better than nothing.
Anyway, I joined Shareapic and started to create my photo galleries. Right now, I have four galleries but almost all of them are about Second Life. My pictures have received some views already. The most viewed picture is a picture of my avatar, Rom Ireton, riding a virtual Harley and it has 130 views already. My current total number of views is 395 and it earned me a few pennies already, about $ 0.0847. I’ll be rich soon! LOL! Current payout is at $20 and you’ll need a PayPal account to get paid.
Shareapic doesn’t have many features like those found in Flickr or Photobucket like resizing, rotating, etc. They also don’t allow direct linking to the actual full image but they do allow embedding of thumbnails that are linked to the page that has the full image. Shareapic also doesn’t have a good image search feature. For now, you can only search for galleries. Searching for individual pictures or images is not available. You also can’t name or describe your images which is something that I really like because naming and describing images kinda helps me remember a little something about the picture specially when I view them at a later date. Maybe these features will be added in the future but for now, I guess the ability to embed thumbnails will suffice.
The one thing I really hate about Shareapic is that it’s so slow. There are even times that it feels like the page you are loading had froze. Sometimes, I have to refresh a page a couple of times just to make it load. This is really not good for Shareapic but they are doing something about it. According to their blog, four new servers will be added which, hopefully, will solve the slowness of the entire site.
Anyway, I plan to continue using Shareapic together with the ones I’m using now (ImageShack and Flickr) and I might consider using them exclusively if they can add one feature and that is the ability to create different thumbnail sizes. So, if you want to make some money from your pictures then why not try Shareapic.
