An Opera With Entrecard

Whoa! More Entrecard stuff? LOL! We’ll I’m still looking for the best way to maximize my Entrecard dropping technique and the latest thing I’m trying out is using Opera and a bookmark of selected Entrecard member websites.
Bookmark? What happened to PowerDropping.com’s list? Well, a few days ago PowerDropping.com lost its power! LOL! I mean, the site was down for about one or two days I think. So, what I did was, I created my own list by bookmarking various Entrecard member websites. The websites came from various categories and I only bookmarked the ones that have their widgets above the fold. I bookmarked more than 300 websites and I bookmarked them using Opera.
A few years ago Opera was tagged as the “Fastest Browser On Earth” and it still is. I find that, even with images, web pages load faster in Opera but don’t get me wrong, I’m still a FireFox user. I just used Opera to, you know, drop Entrecards.
I only needed two things to drop Entrecards quicky in Opera and those were:
- the web browser itself, Opera and;
- a bookmark of websites
I also set my Opera to return to the previous tab when the current tab is closed and I also memorized the following keystroke combinations:
- ctrl+shift left-click, will open a link in a new tab
- ctrl+w, will close the current window
- ctrl+tab, will advance you one tab per action
For the actual dropping, below is what I did:
- opened my bookmark using the bookmark manager
- locked the tab with the bookmark list so that I won’t accidentally close it
- highlighted 15 to 20 websites then ctrl+shift enter to open them in the background (or right-click and select Open in background tab)
- wait for majority of the websites to load then
- ctrl+tab to advance to the next tab
- find the widget and click on “DROP”
- ctrl+w to close the current tab then
- ctrl+tab to advance again and so on and so forth
- repeat number 3 once you’ve gone through, dropped and closed the other tabs
Okay, I must admit that I wasn’t able to time my dropping run with this technique but it does feel really fast specially when you get use to the keystroke combinations. Also, opening 15 to 20 tabs with Opera feels much faster for me than with FireFox and I’m talking about the website’s loading speed. Anyway, this is what I am doing right now. I’m not sure if this dropping technique is faster or slower than what you are currently doing or using but I kinda like this technique than the others.
