My Homepages Friends Earnings Dropped
Posted by MeloFor the entire month of August and September, I have noticed that the amount of money I have earned from Homepages Friends (formerly My Search Funds) kept on dropping. I don’t regularly monitor my earnings in Homepages Friends since I don’t search that much but I do remember seeing that a payment was due to me last August. In that month, they experienced some delay in paying off members and then I started to notice that the amount I earned suddenly decreased. The total number of searches I made for the last past 5 months also suddenly decreased which reflected in my earnings.
I know that they do some checks to avoid fraud and such but the number of searches I lost was in hundreds. Losing a few searches is understandable but losing hundreds? That I don’t understand.
Anyway, according to my account, which now contains my updated earnings, and I quote, “Payment due between 15-30 September 2008 for searches before 1 August 2008 = £25.77.” Okay, I think that was long overdue and I’m really hoping to get it before it gets adjusted again but the question is when? Their latest update to all members says that they are again experiencing some problems in paying off members due to the fact that they’re doing it manually which is the real cause of the delay.
Seriously, I just want to get paid now. The earlier I get the money the more at ease I will be. Does anyone know SlashMySearch? They were also a get paid to search site but now they’re something else. SlastMySearch is now called something like Tafiti which “is an experimental search front-end from Microsoft, designed to help people use the Web for research projects that span multiple search queries and sessions by helping visualize, store, and share research results.”
I’m not sure if all the members where paid by SlashMySearch before dumping their get paid to search scheme in favor of this Tafiti thing and I don’t want that to happen with Homepages Friends. At least the part of me not getting paid. LOL!
Don’t get me wrong, I still search using Homepages Friends but this delay in payment and the unexpected drop in my earnings and search made is making me a little bit uneasy. Anyway, I’ll update everyone once I get my payment from Homepages Friends. Please be a friend and pay me now. LOL!

same with me. i also just want to get paid. I have many referrals. But seems its really slow..
I’ve found MyHomepagesFriends to be a very good and reliable site. I think that the period you’re describing was a time when they looked at all the searches that people did and invalidated a large number.
I find that, if you search for information as you would normally and don’t duplicate searches, the system recognises a ‘valid’ search from an invalid one.
Invalid searches might include:
1) Using the search bar as you would the address bar (typing in URLs to go to rather than search terms) … I often use it this way but would type, for example, ‘bbc’ rather than ‘bbc.co.uk’
2) Not visiting any of the links that the search provides
3) Not viewing the search page for longer than 30 seconds or so.
I find that very few, if any, of my searches are invalidated. I have noticed, though, that some of my referrals who initially made something like 30 searches a day are doing about half this. Whether this is because many of their searches are invalidated or because they really are doing fewer searches, I don’t know.

just stumbled across your website … and yes sadly I must confirm my earnings with hpf have signifficanty dropped last week. From one day to the next it halved. I do get as much for 20 searches now as for 10 before. It does no longer make sense to search and get friends to search if those earnings reain on that low level – there are others who pay lots more and it is not easy to get refs as it were, tending to impossible with the new rates
and an “update” -I asked them via email about the fallen revenues/earnings but only got that standard reply:
“Hi!
As stated on a message on your account you must include you Account ID, which can be found at the top of the right hand menu within your account, within the subject of the email otherwise I will not be able to answer your emails.
Please resend your inquiry with your ID.
Thanks for using our service and please tell your friends!
Regards”
I think I certainly will no longer tell my freinds or anyone elese to join or use that unfriendly service who treat their users like that.
By the way : Yes it seems the amount of searches by my “friends” have dropped significant as well – as mentioned above
now managed to do the math sesrch earnings per search have dropped from 0,2 to 0,06 p … quite significant and no word from hpf to their users …
Homepages friends is a good site.
I refrained from using them because I thought they were not legit but they paid me.
They are legit. Great program for easy money making.

Hi! Have you been paid already? I have this on his earnings summmary:
Payment due between 16-31 December 2008 for earnings before 1 November 2008 £23.12
We are already on the 2nd week of January and I still haven’t received my payment. I tried contacting Hompages-Friends but didn’t get any reply. I’ve already sent 2 emails but still no word from them
I have like $100 in there and they just won’t pay me. Now I can’t use the service at all because all of a sudden they don’t allow members from the US any more… What with my money? I don’t have a problem quitting MHF but I still care about MY money. Their support e-mail doesn’t work either… SCAM!
Let’s keep this simple – they won’t pay out. Been there, done that, wish I had at least got a T-shirt.
I just signed up yesterday and started doing searches. I have done quite a number of searches and waited for the next day to see if there is any search earnings but to my disappointment, there’s zero earning. Must say, I am very disappointed with this money making scheme. Wonder if it is a scam. I even refer a friend to join and on second thought I might ask her to reconsider.
