Account Under Review
Posted by MeloLast week I received an e-mail from StumbleUpon informing me that my account is undergoing review. Well, that’s their subtle way of saying that my account is currently suspended which means I won’t be able to login to my account. Oh well, there’s nothing I can do about it except move on. There is no sense in appealing to them since they don’t even care about their sponsors. You know, those people who actually donated money to keep them running.

StumbleUpon
Eventhough I can’t login to my account, I can still browse and view it because it’s still there. They haven’t deleted or removed it yet. I noticed that my StumbleUpon avatar or photo had disappeared. This made me assumed that when an account in StumbleUpon gets suspended, the photo of the suspended member also disappears. So, I went to check my subscribers list to see if there are any subscribers who are missing their profile photos and there are a few them.
One of those subscribers who are missing his/her profile photo is foolsville. The name foolsville is familiar to me because I often see that name in Entrecard’s forum. I know that he/she is a sponsor or was a sponsor because of the small icon beside his blank profile photo.
To make sure, I asked foolsville about it by sending him a message through Entrecard and he said that he was a sponsor and that he was indeed suspended from StumbleUpon. He also said that it doesn’t matter to StumbleUpon if you are a sponsor or not which means that being a sponsor doesn’t gives you any advantage or protection at all. If StumbleUpon thinks that you are violating any of their rules and regulations then you will be suspended.
When I started getting huge traffic from StumbleUpon the thought of being a sponsor did enter my mind but being always tight on cash I wasn’t able to do so and now I’m glad I didn’t. I do get a few dollars in my PayPal account from time to time and I guess it’s best to save it for my hosting and domain fees rather than giving it to services or sites like StumbleUpon who in any time and for whatever reason can just suspend you.
StumbleUpon does bring lots of traffic and I’m encouraging everyone to use it. It’s FREE and it does not require you to donate any money.
Me? I’ll wait for another week and if my account stays suspended then I’ll just create a new one but this time I’ll try to stay under StumbleUpon’s radar.

Did you violate any of their Terms of Service?
If they do end up deleting your account, just make a new one. I’d be pissed if my account would get deleted, but what can you do about lol.
