Monetizing Your Links

I’m sure many of you are familiar with websites that offer link shortening services like TinyURL, Tr.im, Bit.ly and others. I used to use these link shortening websites a lot but not anymore. Now, I am using a website that offers almost the same service but allows you to make a few pennies from your links. The website is called Linkbee.com and I’ve been using it on one of my blog.

Like any other URL shortening websites, you can use Linkbee.com to shorten your links without registering an account but if you wish to make cash links and have the ability to manage, track and analyze your short links then you will have to register for one. Once you’re registered you’ll be able to create all the cash links you want.

Cash links look exactly the same as normal Linkbee.com shorten links. The difference is on the way the targeted or actual link is shown. With normal shorten links, the target or actual link is shown after clicking on the shortened link but with cash links, the target or actual link is shown before or with an advertisement.

Linkbee.com offers two kinds of ad with their cash link. Interstitial and Banner Ads. An Interstitial Ad works like an in between ad. It is displayed before the target or actual link is shown. A Banner Ad is displayed on top of the target or actual link page. Of course, Interstitial Ads pay higher than Banner Ads that is why it is the ad type I use on my Linkbee.com csh links.

Currently, I’ve made a total amount of $1.48792 USD with Linkbee.com. Ha ha ha! It’s not much but at least it’s something. I’m sure a more popular blog will make much, much more than what I’ve made so far.

As of this writing, my only complaint about Linkbee.com is their category system does not work as intended because, as far as I know, only links categorized as Adult should show adult oriented ads but some categories like Games and even Travel show adult oriented ads. I have to re-categorized all my links to Technology so that it wouldn’t show any adult oriented or related ads.
