Entrecard Link

Today, I received another e-mail from a fellow Entrecard member telling me that I should link my Entrecard to the main page of my blog and not to isolated pages. He also cited that it was against Entrecard’s Terms and Conditions. I used the term “another” because it was the second time this particular Entrecard member has sent me a message about it. The first time was last September 3, 2009 and the content of the message was the same.

Message dated September 3, 2009 reads:

FYI:

You should direct your Entrecard to the main page of your weblog, not to specific, isolated pages thereof.

After getting this message, I immediately contacted Entrecard and asked about it and they responded with “Yes, you can change your website url in your dashboard.”

The message I received today from the same Entrecard member reads:

You need to have the Entrecard link to the main page of your blog, not to isolated pages. The Terms of Service require this.

Again, I contacted Entrecard to ask them about it. In doing so, I sent Entrecard the following message inquiring about it.

Dear Entrecard Team,

A member keeps bugging me about my link. Currently, I have my link pointed to a page/post on my blog. Obviously, I am heavily promoting this post.

I’ve asked this question about pointing my link to a section/page/post to you before and the response I got was “yes, I can change the link”.

The TOC says, “Active users must have the Entrecard widget on their website at all times.”

And it is on all the pages, including the mainpage, of my blog.

Please advise.

I never replied to the Entrecard member who sent me those two messages. I feel that there was no need for it anymore since the Entrecard Team themselves confirmed and said that there is nothing wrong with my blog. Besides, I know that I wasn’t doing anything wrong and the TOC didn’t say anything about linking to the main page only.

Entrecard is not just about getting quick hits or instant traffic. It’s also a tool that can be used to promote not only your main page but certain areas of your blog. As an example, with Entrecard you can run marketing or promotional campaigns where you want people to land on a particular post or page in your blog.

Anyway, I would just like to thank the Entrecard Support Team for their quick and immediate response to my inquiry. I can now put this issue aside for good and move on to more important things.
