My Entrecard Member Sites Drop Page

    Sunday, July 4th, 2010

Previously, I blogged about avoiding Quick Drop Pages and I have been doing that since then. For the past weeks, I have been dropping on other Entrecard member sites using the official Entrecard Toolbar and during those few weeks I have bookmarked more than 300 Entrecard member sites. These sites eventually became part of my personal Entrecard Drop List and today I am going to share it to everyone.

My Entrecard Member Sites Drop Page

As of this writing, all of the Entrecard member sites in my drop list have the following characteristics:

    • all of the Entrecard member sites in my drop list have their Entrecard widget above the fold
    • none of the Entrecard member sites in my drop list triggered a warning from my Anti-Virus software
    • as far as I can recall, none of the Entrecard member sites in my drop list displayed any pop-up or pop-under ads

Of course, I will remove any Entrecard member site that is on my drop list that will not conform to those listed above. (more…)

Manually Block Bad Websites With BlockSite

    Friday, June 4th, 2010

In my previous post, I blogged about Quick Drop pages (for Entrecard and Adgitize) that includes websites or blogs that contain malwares and/or viruses that try to infect your computer when they are accessed. Today while dropping Entrecards and clicking on Adgitize Ads, I came upon another blog that tried to infect my computer with something but AVG was able to detect and block it again.

    Malware Alert

I did a little test and reloaded the blog 3 times and AVG was able to detect and block the infection attempt each time. The blog was not in any Quick Drop pages. I was simply following and clicking on Adgitize Ads. (more…)

Why You Should Avoid Quick Drop Pages?

    Saturday, May 29th, 2010

Quick Drop Pages are very popular specially to members of Entrecard (and even Adgitize) because it makes dropping entrecard and clicking adgitize ads much faster and easier but, unfortunately, most, if not all, of them are not well maintained. The chance of you getting infected by a malware or a virus embedded in one of the listed blogs is quite high.

(Taken during one of my Entrecard Dropping session)

It would be nice if all of the infection attempt could be detected by your Anti-Virus but that’s highly unlikely. As always, the best protection is by avoiding them but with Quick Drop Pages avoiding them would be kinda hard because you don’t know what blog or site the quick drop button will open for you. Youve Just Made $600 Commissions

    Sunday, April 4th, 2010

A few days ago, on April Fools Day to be exact, I receive a series of e-mail spams informing me that I just made $600 commissions. From who or where, I have no freaking idea. I get hundreds of spams everyday and there was no way I’m going to fall for this one. Why? It was so obvious and besides me making $600 out of nowhere is almost next to impossible. Good try though! LOL!

    $600 Spam

The From and Reply-To of the e-mail is addressed to noreply@ballsrodandkustom.com and its Return-path is apache@usfarmer.com. I’m not sure if those domains exist or not. I was afraid to check them because it could lead to a website that installs malware or other bad stuff. (more…)

    BeyondFeron.com Hacked!

    Friday, February 19th, 2010

I was doing my regular Entrecard dropping today when one of the blogs or Entrecard member site that I opened to drop on displayed, not its normal homepage but, a hacked or defaced page. The name of the blog is BeyondFeron.com and the message on its defaced homepage is “H a C k E d OWN3D By Mr.Computer YoUr SeCuRiTy WaS ByPSsEd By  Mr. ComputerAm4[@]live[.]it” (see screenshot below).

I myself have been a victim of hacking and defacement. Two of my blogs have been hacked and defaced before but, up until now, I still could not understand why these so called hackers do this to bloggers. Why don’t they practice their godly hacking skills on banks, on Microsoft or on sites owned and operated by the FBI. Why poor bloggers? (more…)

    Cheat Dropping Resolved?

    Friday, February 12th, 2010

A few days ago, while dropping Entrecards on other Entrecard member websites, a post titled “EntreCard members get scammed by these members!” on Cornymans Money-Blog grabbed my curiousity and interest. The post talked about ghost dropping and even exposed those Entrecard members who were suspected of ghost dropping.

Afterwards, I started a forum thread at CMF Ads asking if there was any truth about this issue and the early responses that the thread received said that it was.

True? Yes. Back when I was with EC I performed a similar test for them. I kept the results secret at their request. When there is an incentive to script drops, there will always be cheaters. When I removed my Entrecard widget, I got drops for months from some of those quick drop sites. Pure fraud. – Turnip

Cheating isn’t really new in Entrecard. In fact, this particular issue made me remember a post I wrote almost a year ago about the same issue. In that particular post titled “Extreme Dropping of Extreme Gaming” a site named Extreme Dropping was displaying Entrecard widgets by other Entrecard members on single pages hosted on their own site not on the Entrecard member site. Of course, this practice was not allowed by Entrecard and Extreme Dropping was later shutdown. (more…)
