The Internet

A Great Teacher

Posted by User ImageMelo

As an individual who deals with the web on a daily basis from blogging to web designing and even online gaming I am always faced with various technologies that keeps on evolving. Sometimes, technology evolves so fast that keeping up with it is almost impossible. Luckily, we have the internet where information about the latest technologies and industry trends are updated and available to everyone as fast as it changes. Through it, I’ve kept myself somewhat updated too. Honestly, the internet is my greatest teacher on everything that is online.

Learning

It thought me how to create webpages using HTML and CSS. It introduced me to Photoshop where I learned to create better graphics and enhance images. It connected me to other people through online communities where I learned from the experiences and expertise of other people. Truly, the internet is a magnificent teacher but unfortunately, what we learn from it alone does not count in black and white. One can try to learn everything that is to know about Photoshop and become an expert at it but in paper, it means so little that is why hundreds or even thousands of IT Professionals seek certifications from various industries that are related to their field.

You see, being certified gives you an edge over your nearest competition. It shows that you are serious about your profession and willing to take that extra step forward to prove it. That is why IT Certified professionals are paid more and always get the best positions in a company.

Getting certified isn’t that hard. Industry giants like Microsoft offers a program that will make you a Microsoft Certified Professional. Companies like Cisco, a leader in networking and communication technologies, offers their Cisco certification in 3 levels (Associate, Professional and Expert). Look, even Adobe Systems Inc. has their own Adobe Certified program.

We can learn almost everything from the internet. There are millions of sites online that are filled with information. In fact, we can even become experts without ever leaving the comfort of our homes but we can make what we learn more valuable by getting certified.
