Spams and Scams

Comment Spam from Amsterdam, LOL!

Posted by Melo

I love getting comments from my visitors, I may not always reply to all of them but still I love getting them. I guess we can say that “comments are the life blood of our blogs” but, unfortunately, not all comments are good. In fact, some comments can be bad for your blog because most of them can have links to bad websites. These kind of comments are what we call SPAM.

Fortunately, most of the comment spams my blogs receive are handled and filtered out by Akismet and WP-SpamFree. These two plugins are great in fighting comment spam but not all comment spams are blocked. In some cases, a few spam comments can easily pass through both Akismet and WP-SpamFree. Just look at the screenshot below.

Comment Spam

I received four comments in four different post from supposedly four different persons. Except from the names and the e-mail addresses used, all four are identical. All four were linked to the same blog, seomasterblog.com. All four came from the same IP address, 93.182.137.42, and all four have the same message. 962 Views

A few days ago, one of my blogs received a total of 962 views and that was also the day I signed up with Brinkin Banner Exchange. I learned about this particular Banner Exchange site while searching for a banner exchange plugin and, guess what, the search result has Brinkin Banner Exchange listed under the term “banner exchange”. I then clicked on install, read the Description and went to the site to register for an account.

By the way, I didn’t install the plugin instead I took the Javascript Code from their site and placed that on my sidebar using a Text Widget. To test it out first, I only placed the code to one of my blogs and created a campaign only for that blog as well. A few hours after my campaign was approved, that blog suddenly received a lot of views. [...continue reading 962 Views]

A List Of DoFollow Blogs

Posted by Melo

Recently, I’ve been doing some commenting on DoFollow blogs to build up or gain some link juice back to my own blogs (specially this one). The reason I’m doing this is because Lord Google dropped my Pagerank to 0 in their last Pagerank Update. Not only that, I also know that commenting on other blogs can be a good source of traffic to my own blogs as well.

Follow Me

Below is a list of blogs that are DoFollow. I have personally visited each one to see if they are indeed DoFollow and all of them are. You can comment on them and be rewarded with a link juice back to your own blog. Since, I will also be using this list for my own commenting you can be assured that those listed will be regularly checked. If any of those listed change into NoFollow then they will be removed from the list. [...continue reading A List Of DoFollow Blogs]

Getting a Few Cents from Sponsored Tweets

Posted by Melo

It’s been months since I last got an opportunity with Sponsored Tweets and, because of that, reaching the $50 payout feels like forever. Today, I lowered my asking price from the suggested $2.75 down to $1.50. I’m not sure if the lower asking price will result to more opportunities but I’m willing to try it besides I don’t think other members are getting that many opportunities as well.

Another way to make money with Sponsored Tweets is through its referral program. You will get 5% commission from each transaction your referrals make. I haven’t referred that many people to Sponsored Tweets but at least they have earned me a few cents already. Ha ha ha!

Online Auctions with Bidazzled

Posted by Melo

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Bidazzled. All opinions are 100% mine.

Bidazzled is a new Online Auction site which was recently launched last month (November 2009). It is different from most Online Auctions because it uses the Pay-Per-Bid system. What this mean is that to be able to bid on an item or product you like you must first purchase bids in advance. This system is very different from what is used by most Online Auction site where bids are free but with Bidazzled the auction price starts at $0.00 and  increments only a few cents per bid which give bidders a greater chance of buying an item cheap.

Bidazzled.com

Membership with Bidazzled is FREE and new members get 5 FREE bids for them to use and try out the system. Also, if you register now and use the code below in your registration then you will be awarded with 15 additional bids.

Bidazzled Code: BBP1202A

This code is only available until January 15, 2010. Register now to take advantage of this FREE offer. [...continue reading Online Auctions with Bidazzled]

Get Paid To Tweet

Posted by Melo

When I first joined Twitter I just wanted to try it out and see what’s all the buzz was about. I didn’t paid it much attention. In fact, the two Twitter accounts I registered remained inactive for many months. Learning that I could get paid to tweet got me back into tweeting and, soon, my two Twitter accounts were slowly getting some followers. One of my accounts already have 2,356 followers and the other one currently has around 600 followers.

Twittad

The main reason why I have two Twitter accounts is that I want to separate my gaming related tweets from my non-gaming tweets. Currently, I am more active with my gaming related Twitter account simply because it has more followers. I’m no Twitter expert but I do know that having a lot of followers is good specially if you are thinking of getting paid to tweet. [...continue reading Get Paid To Tweet]
