A few days ago, while dropping Entrecards on other Entrecard member websites, a post titled “EntreCard members get scammed by these members!” on Cornymans Money-Blog grabbed my curiousity and interest. The post talked about ghost dropping and even exposed those Entrecard members who were suspected of ghost dropping.
Afterwards, I started a forum thread at CMF Ads asking if there was any truth about this issue and the early responses that the thread received said that it was.
True? Yes. Back when I was with EC I performed a similar test for them. I kept the results secret at their request. When there is an incentive to script drops, there will always be cheaters. When I removed my Entrecard widget, I got drops for months from some of those quick drop sites. Pure fraud. – Turnip
Cheating isn’t really new in Entrecard. In fact, this particular issue made me remember a post I wrote almost a year ago about the same issue. In that particular post titled “Extreme Dropping of Extreme Gaming” a site named Extreme Dropping was displaying Entrecard widgets by other Entrecard members on single pages hosted on their own site not on the Entrecard member site.
