On April 10, 2008 my Entrecard AD for this blog, i-TONG.com, ran on 89 Entrecard member websites or blogs. You might also notice that the Cost to Advertise is very low, this is because I bought them immediately after the update to the new pricing system which turned the cost to advertise on all member websites back to 2 credits only.
Below is a table that shows how many clicks my Ad got on those 89 websites and how much it cost to advertise on them on that particular day.
As you can see, some websites gave me a lot of clicks (these clicks also translates to visits) while others didn’t. I’m not saying that those websites where I didn’t get much click or visit are not good to advertise in. It just shows that my Ad didn’t perform well on them. Maybe, those who visit those sites didn’t like my Ad or maybe they are just not interested in what my ad was offering. In any case, their are various factors on why my Ad didn’t perform well in those websites.
Anyway, this table is just a reference that, I hope, could help those who purchase Ads in Entrecard to better allocate their advertising credits. Also, don’t neglect how your Ad looks. An interesting looking ad can definitely get you some visits.
So, if you are still using Entrecard’s default card then I strongly recommend that you immediately change it to a better one before you start advertising. Remember, your Entrecard is also your Ad and it will be the one displayed when you purchase ad spots from other Entrecard members.
You can have a custom card made for you. You’ll find that there are Entrecard members who offer this kind of service and most of the time you pay them with Entrecard Credits. You can also pick one from my Generic Entrecard Cards. You’ll just have to do a little editing on them but it’s not that difficult and they’re free.

Thanks for sharing your results. I ran a similar deal only I purchased ads on all of the elite blogs like John Chow and ProBlogger.

Those are my results and pretty surprising ones at that. I didn’t post how much I paid, but it was before the new system went into effect so I paid less that people are paying now for them.

Cool! I once bought an ad with JohnCow.com but it only yielded 10 clicks for me.

I’m quite surprised at the low click rates at some of the sites at the top. The change in pricing shouldn’t affect how many clicks that you get from these sites, does it?
Needless to say, these sites no longer cost just 2 credits to advertise…. so does it mean that it’s not cost effective to advertise on them now?

Actually, the plan was to compile the list for the entire month of April since the change but I kinda bought to many and now they’re too many to list.
So, I just did that day.
